Why this blog?

My Uncle has type II diabetes. My father has type II diabetes. My older brother has it, and in fact was diagnosed in his early 30s. He's been hospitalized twice for complications. I had gestational diabetes. I think it's safe to say that diabetes runs in the family. Because I had gestational diabetes, my chances of getting age onset diabetes are greater. I picked up running to combat the illness, but diet is critical. So here is my attempt to stave off the illness that plagues so many Americans
